Ken Peterson Honorary Button.

This button is not for sale, however buttons were produced and given to the MNFEC to distribute to members.
Janet Peterson, Ken’s widow, who designed the Festival Button for over 40 years, designed this button to honor her late husband Ken’s life as a Fire Truck Collector, and community volunteer.

Ken was a founding member of the MN Fire Engine Club (MNFEC) whose members gathered in Burnsville in the late 1970s to hold a community celebration when Burnsville was a very young City. This allowed families to come see the Fire Trucks up close, talk to former and current fire fighter men and women, and learn about fire trucks and what it’s like to be a fire fighter.
In 1980 this group created the Burnsville Fire Muster & Community Celebration nonprofit. From those humble beginnings, volunteers have operated the event every year.

We will always miss Ken and his passion for Fire Trucks and giving back to the community.
